Czech Republic scores first World Cup goal in 20 years

The Czech national football team has scored at a World Cup for the first time in 20 years.

Axar.az informs that the team coached by Miroslav Koubek achieved the milestone in their Group Stage Round 1 match against South Korea.

Defender Ladislav Krejci opened the scoring in the 59th minute with a header. This is the Czech Republic’s first World Cup goal in two decades.

The team last scored at a World Cup in 2006, when they defeated the United States 3–0.

It should be noted that the FIFA World Cup 2026, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will conclude on July 19.
