UEFA will hold a tournament in Russia for the first time

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has agreed to hold the first tournament in Russia after Russia's intervention in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed as a result.

Axar.az reports that "RBC Sport" published information about this.

"In May 2023, the UEFA international development tournament for national youth teams is planned to be held in Volgograd. A few months ago, an agreement was reached with UEFA on holding the tournament. The Russian Football Federation and UEFA are holding informal talks on further easing sanctions against Russian football. Holding the tournament at the UEFA level indicates a positive dynamic," said a UEFA source.
