Salah equals Gerrard Merseyside derby goals record

Mohamed Salah equalled Steven Gerrard’s Premier League Merseyside derby goalscoring record after netting in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Everton on Sunday.

Axar.az reports that Salah scored his ninth derby goal as Liverpool edged a dramatic encounter, with Beto equalizing for Everton before Virgil van Dijk struck a stoppage-time winner to secure all three points.

The result keeps Liverpool in the race for a top-five Premier League finish and Champions League qualification.

The Egyptian forward, in his farewell season at Anfield, has now matched Gerrard’s long-standing derby record and became the first player to score in a Merseyside derby at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Salah now has seven goals and six assists in 23 league appearances this season as he prepares to end his Liverpool career on a high note.
