Five rapid rounds were played on the first day. Mammadyarov, the leader of the men's team, started the competition with 3 wins and 2 draws. It should be noted that the world championship will end on December 30. 258 grandmasters (155 men, 103 women) are competing in the world championship with a prize fund of 1 million US dollars.
