FIFA is discussing with members of other football organizations the possibility of renaming at least one stadium in each country in honor of Brazilian three-time world champion Pele.
Axar.az reports that Gianni Infantino, the head of FIFA, announced this on Monday.
"We want every country to have at least one stadium named after Pele. 50, 100 years from now, our children will ask us about him, all this will cherish Pele's memory. We must make sure that this happens," said Gianni Infantino.
It should be noted that a farewell ceremony for Pele, who died on December 29 at the age of 82, is being held today at the stadium of the Santos club in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Infantino also attended the farewell ceremony.
