A Ukrainian drone strike on Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region killed one person and injured two, regional governor Gleb Nikitin said Monday.

Axar.az reports, citing AP, that the attack targeted two industrial zones, including a plant in Arzamas that Ukrainian officials say produces missile components for Russia’s war effort, making it a “legitimate target.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported intercepting 39 Ukrainian drones over multiple regions and Crimea overnight.

The strike comes just days before a planned Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, where the Russian leader aims to secure U.S. backing for a peace deal that would cement Moscow’s territorial gains and block Ukraine from NATO membership.
