The Trump administration deployed 450 federal officers from 18 agencies, including the FBI, DEA, and Secret Service, to patrol Washington, D.C., on August 9–10 as part of a public safety push.
Axar.az reports, citing USA Today, that the move comes despite a 35% drop in violent crime in 2024, reaching its lowest level in over 30 years.
The administration also reassigned 120 FBI agents to night patrols. Trump said the effort will focus on crime prevention, city beautification, and relocating homeless individuals outside the capital.
