Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has proposed organizing a meeting of the heads of departments responsible for information work within the diplomatic institutions of the Caspian littoral states (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan).
Axar.az reports that she made this statement in a video address to participants of the Caspian Media Forum held in Astrakhan.
“I believe we can also consider holding a Caspian-format meeting of the heads of departments responsible for information work in foreign policy institutions. I think many of our colleagues, given the shared nature of the tasks ahead, will support us,” Zakharova said.
The diplomat noted that such a meeting of representatives of the foreign ministries of the Caspian states could build upon the positive experience of past cooperation:
“In my opinion, no one would argue that the Caspian region truly has a great future.”
