The US has sent seven ships, including three destroyers, a submarine, and about 2.2 thousand marines to the coast of Venezuela.

Axar.az reports that, according to the information, this may be part of a plan to overthrow the regime of Nicolas Maduro or put pressure on his resignation.

The official explanation presents the operation as a fight against drugs. However, sources say that the operation may also be planned to put pressure on Maduro or eliminate him. Drug production in sparsely populated areas or new weapons factories built by Russia may be targeted. Some sources also note that Maduro may be the target of a drone due to his suspicion of terrorism by the US.

The Trump administration is pursuing a tough policy against Venezuela, supporting the opposition and imposing sanctions on Maduro and his army.
