Russia cannot allow NATO to deploy forces in Ukraine and will take all necessary measures to ensure its security.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the remarks in response to questions on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.

“Any attempt by NATO to enter Ukraine poses a threat to our country. That is why we consider the presence of foreign armed forces, NATO troops on Ukrainian soil near our borders, a danger,” he said.

“It is a threat because NATO considers Russia an enemy, as reflected in their documents. We cannot allow this, and we will do everything necessary to ensure our security.”

A Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that “you cannot ensure the security of one country by creating a threat to another.”

“From our perspective, this will not help move the conflict toward a resolution,” he added.
