A suspect in the stabbing of a teacher at a school in the city of Essen has been injured by gunfire during his arrest.
Axar.az informs, citing Reuters, German police said on X on Friday.
The suspect, who is now receiving medical care, had been at large after a teacher was injured and brought to hospital in a stabbing at the vocational college, police said.
As reported by the German newspaper BILD, a student attacked a teacher with a knife in the college park in the Nordviertel district of Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia).
The stab wound is said to have been to the stomach and the victim is currently being treated for serious injuries and is scheduled to undergo emergency surgery at the university hospital. It is not yet clear if his life is in danger.
According to BILD, the attacker is an 18-year-old Kosovo Albanian and is a student at the school.
