US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stressed the importance of US President Donald Trump's achievement in bringing Armenia and Azerbaijan to a lasting peace path.

Axar.az informs, citing APА, this was stated in a statement by the US State Department regarding the Transatlantic Dinner organized by Rubio.

The transatlantic partnership - the key to peace and prosperity

The Secretary underscored the importance of the transatlantic partnership to preserving peace and achieving prosperity, the historic commitment by NATO member states to increase defense spending to enhance deterrence, and the importance of continued diplomatic engagement to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

The Secretary also emphasized the importance of confronting Chinese malign influence.

US initiatives: stability in the Middle East and peace in the South Caucasus

Joint cooperation to achieve stability in the Middle East, including through ensuring that Iran never develops or obtains a nuclear weapon; and the President’s achievement in setting Armenia and Azerbaijan on a path towards a lasting peace.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted the 2025 Transatlantic Dinner with foreign ministers from EU and NATO member states, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Union High Representative Kaya Kallas, and the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Switzerland, and Ukraine.
