Iran abolishes mandatory hijab law

After a long struggle in Iran, the headscarf law has been abolished.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Mohammadreza Bahoner, a member of the Iranian Consultative Council.

He noted that from a legal point of view, the implementation of the headscarf law is impossible:

“There is no longer any need to implement the headscarf law in Iran. The obligation to wear a headscarf will no longer result in any fines, punishments, or legal consequences. Tell the police about this as well.”
