Russia, Turkiye did all they could to implement Istanbul deal

Russia and Turkiye did everything possible to prepare and implement the Istanbul agreements on Ukraine, but Western intervention prevented the process from being completed.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu made the remarks during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

“The only documents prepared through joint efforts at that time were the Istanbul agreements. Had it not been for Western interference, we would have had every opportunity to complete this work,” Shoigu said.

“In any case, at that time Russia and Turkiye did everything to ensure that the Istanbul agreements were prepared and could be implemented,” he added.
