Opposition leaders detained after Tbilisi protest

Members of the organizing committee of the protest held on October 4 — opposition figures Paata Burjuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, and Lasha Beridze — were detained in Tbilisi late at night.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“They are accused of calling for the violent overthrow of Georgia’s constitutional order or state authority, as well as organizing, leading, and participating in acts of group violence. These crimes carry a prison sentence of up to 9 years,” the statement said.
