One of the three people rescued alive by rescuers from a hydropower plant located in a flood-hit area of Nepal after 10 days is a Chinese national.

Axar.az reports, citing the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, that the Chinese citizen was rescued by the Nepalese Army from a tunnel at the hydropower plant in coordination with a disaster response expert team from South Korea.

The survivor was taken to a hospital for medical examination and treatment.

The Nepalese Army is conducting search-and-rescue operations at several hydropower plant projects in the disaster-hit area in coordination with foreign technical teams, including experts from China, India and South Korea, to locate people trapped inside structures.

It should be noted that floods in a border area of Nepal on August 26 swept several villages and a border crossing between Nepal and China under mud and rocks. According to the latest reports, 1,344 people have died on the Nepalese side, while around 5,000 remain missing.
