US sanctions chief joins Trump envoys at Kremlin meeting

Gene Lange, the acting sanctions chief at the U.S. Treasury Department, joined US President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in their meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Saturday.

Axar.az reports, citing Axios, that Lange participated in a preparatory meeting with Putin envoy Kirill Dmitriev but didn't attend the meeting with Putin.

Lange's participation indicates that U.S. sanctions against Russia were part of the discussions.

It should be noted that Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.
