Russian President Vladimir Putin, after a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, convened permanent members of the Russian Security Council at the Kremlin.
Axar.az reports, citing TASS, this was shared by Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov.
“Yesterday evening, immediately after the phone contact with U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin gathered the permanent members of the Security Council at the Kremlin and provided a detailed briefing on the content of the exchange of views with his American colleague,” the Kremlin representative said.
The previous evening, Putin and Trump held their eighth phone call since the beginning of the year. The leaders’ conversation lasted nearly 2.5 hours, making it one of their longest phone calls this year.
On October 16, after speaking with Putin, Trump stated that they had agreed to meet in the near future in the Hungarian capital. Later, the U.S. president clarified that the meeting could take place within the next two weeks.
During the conversation, the leaders discussed the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, the possible supply of Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv by Washington, bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington, and the situation in the Gaza Strip. At the end of the call, the presidents agreed to remain in contact.
