Berlin backs Putin–Trump talks

We welcome the expected meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Budapest.

Axar.az reports that German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said this.

“Overall, I think it is good that the negotiations will continue,” he said.

The German minister noted that he considers this meeting between Putin and Trump to be the first stage on the path to direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine:

“If this is done to conduct clear peace negotiations, then it is acceptable.”
