Madagascar’s new regime revokes Rajoelina’s citizenship

A new regime in Madagascar has stripped former president Andry Rajoelina of his citizenship.

Axar.az informs that Al Arabiya reported the news.

Prime Minister Herintsalama Radzaunarivelu stated that Rajoelina lost his Malagasy citizenship after obtaining French citizenship. Under the country’s laws, any adult citizen who voluntarily acquires foreign citizenship automatically loses Malagasy citizenship.

It should be noted that the former president’s ally has also been arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
