Polish fighters intercept Russian Il-20 over Baltic Sea

Poland scrambled its MiG-29 fighter jets in response to Russia’s Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft, marking the third such incident within a week.

Axar.az reports that the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command released the statement.

According to the report, the Polish jets took off on the morning of October 31 after the Il-20 was spotted flying over the Baltic Sea.

“The Russian aircraft was once again flying without a flight plan and with its transponder turned off, posing a potential threat to the region’s airspace. Polish pilots escorted the foreign aircraft in line with NATO procedures,” the statement said.
