U.S. preparing strikes on Venezuelan military bases

The United States is preparing to strike military bases in Venezuela.

Axar.az reports, citing The New York Post, that a source familiar with the plans shared this information.

According to the report, the operation aims to dismantle the “Cartel de los Soles” command structure linked to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and destroy military facilities protecting the Maduro regime’s drug trafficking operations.

Other sources noted that while previous strikes in the region targeted drug traffickers themselves, upcoming ground operations are expected to focus on eliminating the cartel’s leadership and infrastructure.

The report added that the strikes could occur at any time. However, the likelihood of such an operation remains low at the moment, as few senior officials are currently in Washington — President Trump left for Florida on Friday morning, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Air Force Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Kane are both on official trips.

It should be noted that Venezuela has reportedly sought assistance from Russia, China, and Iran in response to U.S. military pressure.
