Russia protests Japan’s ‘Joint Exercise 2025’ drills

Russia has lodged a protest with Japan over its recent military exercises.

Axar.az reports that the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the matter.

In the statement, Moscow expressed concern about the deployment of a Typhoon missile system battery — designed for launching medium- and short-range missiles — at Japan’s Iwakuni base.

It added that Russia reserves the right to take necessary measures to ensure its own security.

For context, Japan conducted large-scale military drills, dubbed Joint Exercise 2025, from October 20 to 31 across the entire country, including Hokkaido Island near its borders.
