Armenia to start "Trump Road" construction in 2026

The construction of the “Trump Road” (or Zangezur Corridor) will begin next year.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

About the “Trump Road”. The roadmap is as follows: by the end of the year, all the details should be recorded on paper, we should agree in the first half of 2026, and in the second half, we should start construction work,” he said.

Pashinyan noted that Armenia will do everything in its power to ensure that the timetable works accurately:

“The railway will be laid along the route that existed during the Soviet era (along the Mehri), because it is unrealistic to build a railway from another place. The gas pipeline will pass much further north, as well as power lines.”

Let us recall that we are talking about a corridor that will be built between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
