Germany allows military response to drone threats

The German government has approved a draft law on air safety submitted by the Ministry of the Interior.

Axar.az informs that the law gives federal states the right to involve the Armed Forces in order to help combat the threat of drones. The Bundeswehr is authorized to intervene armed against drones in cases where it is seriously difficult to prevent the threat without its support. Since a quick and effective response is necessary during measures against drones, the bill aims to simplify and accelerate the decision-making process for the use of the Armed Forces for this purpose.

In addition, according to the law, in the future, violating the security of civil air transport by intentionally and without permission entering the territory of airports will be considered a crime. Persons who intentionally enter the security zone of airports and attempt to disrupt the flight process and create a threat will face up to 5 years in prison.
