Napoleon’s gold ring stolen from museum in Belgium

A gold ring belonging to French Emperor Napoleon and other historical exhibits have been stolen from a museum in the Belgian city of Genappe.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by RTBF.

According to the report, the thieves entered the museum by breaking a window. They also damaged a glass display case in which some of the exhibits were kept.

Napoleon’s gold ring is 18-carat and set with five diamonds.

The ring was found after the emperor fled following his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo on June 18, 1815. Gold and silver coins dating back to the Napoleonic era have also gone missing.
