Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said that it has shifted its military doctrine toward preemptive operations, describing its recent “Saeqa” operation as both a deterrent response and a preemptive action.

Axar.az reports, citing Iran International, that Akraminia added that the latest operation reflected the new approach.

“We have changed our military doctrine toward preemptive operations,” he said.

Akraminia noted that “Saeqa” was carried out in three stages, with two launched immediately after the attack on August 30 and a third two nights later to complete the operation’s objectives.

He also said US air-defense systems in the region had been damaged, making it easier for Iran to strike Israel. He provided no evidence for the assertion.

“If Israel attacks, we will target it faster and more heavily than before,” Akraminia said.
