Iran’s population could fall below 40 million by 2101

The decline in Iran’s population in the coming years will turn into one of the country’s biggest crises.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Iran’s Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni.

“If the current pace and rate of decline continue, the country’s population will fall below 40 million by 2101. This would be a major catastrophe and the greatest threat facing a country,” the minister emphasized.

It should be noted that Iran’s current population is approximately 86 million.
