Kadyrov left off United Russia's regional candidate list

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has not been named the head of United Russia's regional candidate list for the upcoming State Duma elections for the first time since 2007.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that the top spot on the party's regional list has been given to incumbent State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliyev, followed by lawmakers Ruslan Lechkhadzhiyev and Akhmed Dogayev.

The list also includes Chechen Prime Minister Magomed Daudov, his deputy Isa Tumkhadzhiyev, and Galas Taymaskhanov, head of the Chechen administration.

The report also noted that Kadyrov skipped the party's election congress in Moscow, where the candidates were officially nominated. The Chechen delegation was instead led by Magomed Daudov.
