Ukraine denies drone attack on Putin's residence

Ukraine has denied Russia’s claim that it carried out a drone attack on one of President Vladimir Putin’s residences, calling the allegation a fabrication aimed at undermining peace efforts.

Axar.az, citing BBC, reports that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Ukraine launched 91 long-range drones at Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region, all of which were allegedly intercepted without casualties or damage.

President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the accusation as a “typical Russian lie” designed to justify continued Russian attacks and warned the international community against allowing Moscow to derail negotiations.

Russia said it would reassess its negotiating position but would not withdraw from talks with the United States.

The dispute comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts, including talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Zelensky in Florida on a revised peace plan. Zelensky said ending the war in 2026 was possible with U.S. support but stressed he did not trust Putin’s intentions.
