President Donald Trump warned that Hamas must disarm within a short time frame or face severe consequences, saying there would be “hell to pay” if the group fails to comply.
Axar.az, citing CBS, reports that speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago, Trump said the second phase of the Gaza peace plan could move forward quickly if Hamas disarms, as it had pledged to do.
Trump claimed that 59 countries supporting the peace deal are prepared to act against Hamas if it refuses to disarm, though he did not name them.
He said U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would oversee the next phase from the American side.
Hamas has so far refused to disarm and has not returned all Israeli hostage remains, while Israel has continued limited strikes in Gaza.
Netanyahu described the meeting as highly productive. He also announced that Trump would receive the Israel Prize for his role in the peace negotiations. The United States President Donald Trump also said he would support an Israeli strike on Iran if Tehran resumes its nuclear or ballistic missile programs and suggested he favors a pardon for Netanyahu, who faces corruption charges.
The meeting comes amid broader U.S. diplomatic efforts, including Trump’s attempts to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia, as he continues hosting world leaders during the holiday period at Mar-a-Lago.
