Ukraine estimates $800B needed for reconstruction

Ukraine’s financial needs for reconstruction and economic development over the next decade are estimated at approximately $800 billion.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko while discussing the economic negotiation process with European partners in Kyiv.

According to her, over the past few weeks, the Ukrainian team has been actively discussing the next steps with the US in the context of war economy and transition to long-term prosperity and security:

“Many of our institutions, including the World Bank, have conducted systematic work within the donor platform to assess reconstruction and recovery needs.”

She added that as a result of this cooperation, a framework has been prepared to clearly determine Ukraine’s needs, initial conditions, mechanisms, and investment directions for the next decade to ensure the country’s flourishing.
