Death toll rises amid ongoing protests in Iran

Amid continuing protests in Iran, the number of fatalities has increased.

Axar.az reports that in Malikshah, Ilam Province, rioters attempted to enter one of the law enforcement centers. As a result, an armed confrontation broke out, leaving three people dead.

According to Mehr News Agency, one of those killed was a law enforcement officer, while the other two were protesters. Several people were reportedly injured in the clashes.

It is recalled that earlier reports said three people had been killed during nationwide protests in Iran.

It should be noted that Iran has been witnessing its largest protests in the past three years due to soaring inflation and a record sharp depreciation of the national currency against the U.S. dollar.
