Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan has never sought to create a crisis in its relations with Russia.

Axar.az informs speaking at a joint briefing with Ursula von der Leyen in Yerevan he added that his government acts in Armenia's national interests and, while respecting the interests of its partners, cannot place them above those of Armenia.

He said Armenia must now refocus on reforms, adding that the new level and scope of relations with the EU create a historic opportunity for the country to fully align with European standards.

"This is a historic event," he said, thanking the European Union for its support.

Pashinyan added that Armenia's relations with the EU have developed "unimaginably" in recent years, with no signs of slowing down.
