Colombia calls a UN Security Council meeting

Colombia has called a meeting of the UN Security Council in response to the U.S. attack on Venezuela.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by Angie Rodríguez, Director of the Administrative Department of the Colombian Presidency.

“Colombia has convened a UN Security Council meeting for Monday. Requests have also been submitted for an emergency meeting of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), which is chaired by Colombia, as well as a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC),” the statement said.

It should be noted that a day earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump advised Colombian President Gustavo Petro to be cautious following the arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
