Syrian army takes control of Al-Omar oil and Koniko gas fields

The Syrian army has taken control of the Al-Omar oil field and the Koniko gas field in the eastern part of the country.

Axar.az reports, citing Clash Report, that Al-Omar is Syria’s largest oil field and is located east of Deir ez-Zor.

The Koniko gas field is one of Syria’s most important gas facilities.

It was also noted that the Syrian army’s operations against the terrorist organization SDF are ongoing.
