Georgia detains 14 foreigners for illegal stay

Fourteen foreign nationals from Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, and Morocco have been detained in Georgia.

Axar.az reports that the information was released by Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was established that the individuals had been living in Georgia for several years without legal grounds, in violation of the conditions stipulated in the asylum application procedure.

The foreigners did not make use of the terms specified in the decision providing for voluntary departure from Georgia, after which the Ministry’s Migration Department decided to detain them.

To enforce the decision, the detainees have been placed in a relevant facility of the Migration Department, where they will remain before being returned to their countries of origin.
