Sweden approves €1.2bn military aid package for Ukraine

The Swedish government approved its 21st package of military aid to Ukraine worth SEK 12.9 billion (€1.2 billion) on Thursday.

Axar.az informs, citing European Pravda, Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson said the aid will focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense.

Sweden plans to provide around €400 million from this sum to supply a Tridon Mk2 system, a Swedish-made anti-aircraft missile system particularly effective against drones. The package will also include sensors, robots and anti-aircraft guns.

Another €524 million will support Ukrainian production of long-range missiles and drones.

The remaining €280 million will go towards grenade launchers from Swedish military stocks as well as the purchase of artillery shells, spare parts and training for Ukrainian personnel.
