Russia urges 'all parties' in Middle East to show restraint

Russia has called on Iran and all parties in the Middle East to exercise restraint amid a U.S. military buildup in the region.

Axar.az, citing Fox News, reports that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov urged prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions as tensions rise, with the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier moving toward the Middle East to join the USS Abraham Lincoln and its strike group.

Meanwhile, U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations continue, with Iran reporting a “general agreement on guiding principles” and plans to draft a potential framework. However, the U.S. maintains that any deal must include dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, curbing ballistic missile development, and ending support for groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.

Tensions remain high despite diplomatic efforts, as the presence of two U.S. aircraft carriers marks an unprecedented military escalation in the region.
