Israeli officials believe US, Iran at unbridgeable impasse

Tensions between Washington and Tehran are intensifying, with Israeli officials concluding that the gaps in nuclear talks are “unbridgeable” and that the risk of near-term military escalation is high.

Axar.az, citing Times of Israel, reports that the US has mounted a major military buildup in the region, and Israel is preparing for possible joint action, though no final decision has been made.

Two rounds of talks have stalled over uranium enrichment and sanctions. President Donald Trump warned that without a deal, “really bad things” would happen, adding, “I guess I can say I am considering that” when asked about a strike.

A senior US official said Trump would accept only a deal he can “sell politically at home,” cautioning, “If they play games, there won’t be a lot of patience.” The White House reiterated that Iran “cannot have nuclear weapons or the capacity to build them, and that they cannot enrich uranium.”

Congress may vote on blocking Trump from striking Iran without authorization.
