Orban mocks EU’s plan to defeat Russia on battlefield

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized Estonia’s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, mocking her ambition to “defeat Russia on the battlefield."

Axar.az, citing Hungarian media, reports that Orban said, “Napoleon and Hitler tried this, they failed, well, then perhaps Kaja Kallas will succeed.”

Orban also questioned EU assumptions about the imminent collapse of the Russian economy, including projections cited by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. He warned that pursuing such a policy would bring severe consequences, stating that it is not Russia but EU economies and their allies that are at risk

“Economically, it will not be Russia that collapses here, but the economies of the EU countries and those who join them,” he concluded.
