Russia proposes new rules for children of migrant workers

The Russian government has submitted a draft law to the State Duma proposing that children of labor migrants in Russia must leave the country upon turning 18 or apply for their own work patent.

Axar.az, citing TASS, reports that the children would otherwise only be allowed to remain as long as their parent holds a valid work permit and pays a fixed advance personal income tax for themselves and each child.

Once reaching 18, migrant children would have 30 days to either leave or apply for a patent under the new law.
