Lindsey Graham frets Trump's advisers oppose Iran strike

Senator Lindsey Graham expressed concern that some of President Trump’s advisers are discouraging military action against Iran.

Axar.az reports that, speaking to Axios, Graham urged the president to ignore those warnings, arguing that failing to act could allow “evil” to go unchecked.

He framed decisive action as an opportunity for “historic change” in Iran.

Trump has two aircraft carriers and hundreds of warplanes deployed for a potential operation, with military options reportedly including targeting Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his son. At the same time, Trump’s team has shown some willingness to consider Iranian proposals involving limited “token” uranium enrichment to avoid a nuclear weapons pathway.

Graham, a close Trump ally, recently traveled to the Middle East to consult with leaders from Israel, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, advocating for a strike. However, other advisers caution against entanglement in a major military operation, highlighting the risks of a regime-change campaign and the potential for escalating conflict.

Graham emphasized that history will judge both the president’s decisions and his own stance in supporting firm action.
