Terrorist members detained in Istanbul over planned attacks

Four members of the DHKP-C terrorist organization were detained in Istanbul during a joint operation by Turkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the General Directorate of Security (EGM).

Axar.az, citing TRT Haber, reports that intelligence findings indicated the suspects were preparing armed and bomb attacks targeting strategic and critical locations in the city.

The suspects were captured in simultaneous raids conducted on February 25, 2026.

Authorities emphasized that counterterrorism operations continue without interruption. Earlier, on February 3, 2026, a large-scale coordinated operation against the MLKP was carried out across 22 provinces.

Officials described the dismantling of DHKP-C cells in Istanbul as a result of effective cooperation between MİT and EGM against far-left terrorist organizations.
