Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Muttaqi calls for dialogue

Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, stated in a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, that the Islamic Emirate (IEA) opposes violence and seeks to resolve issues through mutual respect.

Axar.az, citing Afghanistan media, reports that he stated that “meaningful progress depends on the other side demonstrating sincere and practical commitment to solutions.”

Muttaqi discussed regional developments, particularly the recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to the Afghan Foreign Ministry, he noted that actions undertaken by Afghan security and defense forces were “carried out to protect the country’s sovereignty, airspace, and territorial integrity,” and that these objectives had been successfully achieved.

He reiterated that the IEA has consistently opposed violence and prioritizes resolving problems through mutual understanding. Meanwhile, Fidan highlighted that Turkiye is coordinating with relevant countries to stabilize the situation and reduce violence.
