US plans deeper strikes as Iranian attacks drop sharply

US forces will strike “progressively deeper into Iranian territory and (create) additional freedom of maneuver for US forces.

Axar.az reports, citing CNN, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine said today that Iran’s missile launches have dropped sharply since the start of the US-Israeli strikes on the country, describing what he called “steady progress” by US forces in the region.

“As of this morning, US Central Command is making steady progress. Iran’s theater ballistic missile shots fired are down 86% from the first day of fighting,” Caine said during a briefing at the Pentagon.

He added that the decline has accelerated in recent hours.

There’s “a 23% decrease just in the last 24 hours,” Caine said, adding that Iran’s drone launches are also down 73%.

He said that the reduction in missile and drone activity has allowed US forces to expand their operational advantage.

“This progress has allowed CENTCOM to establish localized air superiority across the southern flank of the Iranian coast and penetrate their defenses with overwhelming precision and firepower.”

The stats come one day after President Donald Trump said that Iran’s air force and navy had been “knocked out.”
