Trump says Iran’s new leader won’t live in peace

President Donald Trump said he is "not happy" with Iran’s choice of a new supreme leader but that early results from Operation Epic Fury have been "way beyond expectation."

Axar.az reports, citing Fox News, Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been installed as Iran’s next supreme leader.

“I don’t believe he can live in peace,” Trump told Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst.

The president highlighted the success of the joint U.S.-Israeli military operation, saying its early results were “way beyond expectation.”

“When we launched the first strike, we destroyed 50% of their missiles. Without that, it would have been a much harder fight,” Trump added.

According to U.S. Central Command, more than 5,000 targets have been struck since the operation began on Feb. 28.
