Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump and warned that Israel would strike targets in Beirut if Hezbollah continued attacking Israeli cities and civilians.
Axar.az reports that Netanyahu wrote on his X account that Israel's position on the matter remains unchanged.
“I spoke this evening with President Trump and told him that if Hezbollah does not stop firing at our cities and citizens – Israel will strike terrorist targets in Beirut,” Netanyahu said.
He added that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would continue operating in southern Lebanon as planned.
Earlier, Trump said he had spoken with Netanyahu and that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed not to attack each other.
