Merz: No joint plan to quickly end war in Iran

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has expressed concern over the ongoing military operations against Iran, saying there is “no joint plan” on how the war could be quickly brought to a convincing end.

Axar.az reports, citing WELT, he warned of a “dangerous escalation” in light of Iran’s counterattacks.

“We have no interest in an endless war. We have no interest in the dissolution of Iran’s territorial integrity, statehood, or economic viability,” Merz said.

He noted that while the United States and Israel have been conducting military operations for more than a week, there is growing concern over the absence of a coordinated plan to bring the conflict to a swift and credible conclusion.
