Putin, Pezeshkian discuss war and regional tensions

A phone conversation took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Axar.az reports, citing Mehr, during the call, Pezeshkian stressed the need for the international community to condemn the crimes committed by the United States and Israel.

Putin, in turn, said that Russia is ready to provide any assistance necessary to end the war.

The presidents of Iran and Russia also exchanged views on key issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional developments following the attacks.

Putin reiterated that Russia opposes military aggression against Iran and declared that Moscow is ready to send necessary assistance and support efforts to bring an end to conflicts in the region as soon as possible.

The two sides also emphasized the importance of continuing consultations at the highest levels.

It is worth noting that this was the second phone call between Putin and Pezeshkian since the United States and Israel launched the war against Iran on Feb. 28.
